Last night was incredible. There are so many words I could use to describe how I feel today: joyous, excited, pumped-up, exhausted, happy…

However, the main word buzzing around my head today is:

THANK YOU so much for making the night what it was!! Your support and enthusiasm means so much to me, I’m really a lucky gal to have you as supporters!

I’m looking forward so much to planning the next show… and to be busy plotting the next chapter.

A couple of weeks ago the lovely ladies at Urban Naturelle treated me to afternoon tea at Soho’s Secret Tea Room. We had a great natter about music, life as a mixed chicks and taming unruly curly hair – all topics that are close to my heart!

It was quite a challenge focusing on the interview while there was a big piece of chocolate cake sitting in front of me. Fortunately for me the post-interview gorging on cakes and sarnies was not caught on camera, but trust me… it happened!

So it’s almost showday… and I’m extremely excited!

And perhaps a little nervous too.

Fortunately on Friday I was given a taste of the duchess treatment. That helped me to calm my nerves!

I was invited to the offices of Kuka-me to pick out some pieces of jewellery to wear to my show on Tuesday. It’s pretty much a fantasy to be given free reign to try on an entire collection of jewellery… and what can I say, I embraced the experience with open arms!!

I’m stoked with the pieces that I chose. You’ll have to wait til the show to see what I ended up picking, but in the meantime here are a couple of pics of me in jewellery heaven. I’m pretty sure you can see me glowing. Yes yes, that would be the joy.

OK, so if I’m totally honest, I find it a hair embarrassing watching videos of myself singing.

However, I have received several requests for such videos. And given that I pretty much live for fanmail, who would I be to deny the wants of the people? So I caved and made one.

In return I expect messages of support to help me shield the pain of making public such an intimate, soul-baring video. OK?

The good news is that I am deep in rehearsal mode, fully absorbed in putting together a great show for you on the 19th.

However, at some point during practice each day there is an inevitable dip.

I’m sure you are familiar with the usual procrastination techniques: cup of tea, biscuit, arranging papers at right angle…. Well, they kinda lost their effect on me.

So what’s a girl to do? Photoshoot!

Look how pretty my keyboard is! We’ve been through so much together…

Above is some footage of me in the studio from when I was finishing off some recording.

I don’t know why I decided to film on a day when my hair was so raggedy and with no makeup on. Perhaps it’s an irreverent middle finger to an industry that is so overly sexualised? (Edit: Nah… just laziness.)

Oh well, I’m sure you forgive me more than I forgive myself…. And due to the **highly** educational value of this clip, up it goes!

It’s quite nice to unveil some of the layers that go in to recording a track as a whole. As you can probably hear, I’m ‘into’ the sound of my voice multiplied. It became somewhat of an addiction whilst I was recording.

Don’t worry, no one was harmed in the process…

Well well, I’m in the process of readying myself for my return to the live circuit with a special birthday gig in July!

This is going to be my first full show in ages, so I’m looking forward to singing the old, the new… and the undiscovered too!

Yes, I’ve been back in the studio!

You probably can’t tell from the pics, but I was having one of those soul-warming days where having fun magically combined with being productive. Exciting!
